Our Story

Deep Roots in the Ozark Mountains

Rackensack Kilns and Sawmill has been a cornerstone of the Garfield community since 1965. What started as a family-owned operation with a simple band saw has grown into one of the region's most trusted sources for premium hardwood lumber.

Our kiln-drying facility ensures every board reaches the perfect moisture content — whether you're building fine furniture, crafting custom cabinets, or constructing a lasting deck. We source our logs locally from sustainably managed Ozark forests, supporting the land and the livelihoods that depend on it.

Kiln Drying

Our state-of-the-art kiln reduces moisture content precisely, preventing warping, cracking, and insect damage. Ideal for furniture, flooring, and fine woodworking.

Custom Milling

Bring us your dimensions. We'll saw your hardwood to exact thickness, width, and length — from rough lumber to finished boards ready for your project.

On-Site Logging

Have a fallen tree or want to clear your land? We handle felling, bucking, and milling right on location — turning your timber into usable lumber.

Retail Lumber

Browse our extensive selection of kiln-dried hardwood and softwood in stock. Available by the board foot or in custom cuts — no order too large or small.

Expert Consultation

Not sure which wood suits your project? Our team will help you choose the right species, grade, and moisture content for your specific needs.

Special Orders

Need a specific species or unusual dimension? We'll source it for you. From white oak beams to black walnut turning blanks — if it's hardwood, we can get it.
